I recently got a large supply of hot sauces from a great Dutch company (Heat Supply) selling a great range of sauces. I’ve been working my way through them all, and this one I tried on some sausages from Denny’s new meatless range. I think its a new range as I hadn’t seen them before, although for some reason Tesco has them in the meat section rather than the veg section, which in my one, the fridges aren’t near each other, luckily I just glimpsed them as I passed!
Well this one doesn’t require real instructions, fry the sausages for a few mins in olive oil. Put them to the side and fry some shallots and garlic, toss the cooked linguine in with some sliced sundried tomatoes and olives. Dish up and top with hot sauce.
Tonights hot sauce was Raijmakers Heetmakers another company in Netherlands (started by two brothers). This one ‘Immune Booster’ is made from Jalapeño, Lime and Gin, packing a nice heat punch and very distinctive taste from the Lime – giving it nice tang and slight sweet edge, and Gin (or maybe thats where the sweetness is?!). It has a semi thick consistency so flows nicely without having to shake, and doesn’t take much to give a kick so the bottle should last you a while. Very cool packaging too, and the empty bottle will be kept as like the packing it is really cool, like medicine bottle from a 100 years ago!
The sausages are probably the best I’ve had yet (and I’ve tried a lot over the years!), these have a great taste, but the best thing about them is the consistency, which is where they really shine and make them my fav ones.
